The Best Kosher Candy!
First, I suppose we should start off with a basic question: what is Kosher candy?
Kosher is a term that means the food in question satisfies the requirements of Jewish law. This means mostly that it can’t be made with certain animal products – mainly pork and shellfish.
There are certain “boards” around the US that specialize in certifying certain foods as “Kosher”. The main ones are: OU, Kof-K, OK, and Star-K.
Next time you are looking at food in the supermarket, quickly check the back packaging. Many foods will have a Kosher certification label from one of these entities located next to where you’d find if it was an organic.
For that reason, it seems obvious that not every candy brand is certified Kosher. For example, Haribo candy is NOT kosher. Fun fact, however: there is a kosher line sold exclusively through Paskesz!
Knowing that, here is a list of the best kosher candy (as ranked by me) that has all been CERTIFIED:
Honorable Mention:
A lot of licorice is Kosher, including Twizzlers and Red Vines both.
However, my favorite one is Panda Licorice. It’s got everything going for it. It’s organic, fair-trade AND Kosher. Not to mention the fact that it’s also delicious.
Whether you are a fan of raspberry licorice or black licorice, Panda does it right.
