Apart from the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree, the college also offered the Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons.) and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degrees. Moreover, the college formed a lot of different literary societies. Early the Central College established Kannada and English departments. However, from the year 1890 onwards, the college started to teach Mathematics.

Besides, the Central College founded the department of Physics in the year 1882. The year 1913 onwards, Chemistry started here. This college organized Botany and Zoology departments separately in 1919 and 1908, respectively. Moreover, The Central College started Geology in 1898. Subsequently, Hindi, Tamil, Persian, Sanskrit, Telegu, Urdu, German, and French started in the college.

This central college became the university and was named Bangalore University in the year 1964. T.P. Issar, an I.A.S. (Indian Administrative Service) officer, was the University Registrar then. He was also Karnataka’s chief secretary.

Admissions of Bengaluru Central University

Bangalore Central University fee structure
