How to Play Blackjack Online

Blackjack is one of the most popular and widely played casino games in the world. The game is played with the player or players trying to beat the dealer’s hand by hitting the value of 21 before the dealer hits 17. In blackjack, players do not compete/play against each other but rather against the dealer.

The game can be played online in casinos that have various incentives and a list of offers you can enjoy while playing games on their sites. Even as blackjack is one of the most played games, many people still do not know how to play the game, which is a great way to pass time. Here are steps on how to play blackjack online.

Join a table

The first step to playing blackjack is joining a table. When you join a table, you buy-in to the table by paying a certain amount according to the minimum and maximum limit provided by the casino. If you are playing in a tournament, you might have to wait for up to a minute or more before the game starts, as there is a waiting period for all the required players to join(single table tournaments have 9 or 10 players). Once all the players have successfully joined the table and placed their bets, they will each be dealt two cards facing up. The dealer also gets two cards; one facing up and one facing down.

Decide on your strategy

After you have been dealt your cards, you can now decide whether you want to hit or stand. When you hit, you request another card from the dealer. Requesting another card depends on the value of the cards you have at the moment. If you are sure your hand won’t bust by getting a total value of 21, or you just want to try your luck, you can choose to hit. By choosing to “stand”, it means you are forfeiting your turn by receiving no cards and asking the dealer to move on to the next player.

Check the value of your hand

The value of your hand now depends on whether you decide to hit or stand. Now the players’ cards are revealed, and the total value of the cards is calculated. If the total value of your cards goes beyond 21, you will be eliminated. You will remain in the game if you have a value of exactly 21 or less.

Compare your cards to the dealer’s

Here the dealer’s cards are revealed, and you will now know if you have won or if you have lost. If your cards are closer to 21 as opposed to that of the dealer, the dealer busts and you win. If the dealer is closer to 21 than any of the players at the table, then they all lose and the dealer wins.

Receive your payout/play again/leave

If you win, when the game ends, you will receive your payout according to the type of bet you staked. You can now choose to play again or leave, regardless of whether you won or not.

Conclusion

Blackjack is a relatively easy game to play, and it does not require much skill as you can win by just following the basic steps. Learn the strategy that suits you and play according to what you know best.
