Trade Guide for Diablo II: Resurrection for Complete Beginners

The Currency is a term that refers to a unit of moneySo you’re interested in learning how to trade in Diablo II – Resurrected? Read on. Throughout this guide, you will learn what trading in Diablo II means, how to go about it, and what to look out for when you are trading. Trading in Diablo II resurrected can be a bit overwhelming at first glance, with Diablo 2 resurrected items that are the same but selling for significantly more money – as well as the rune system – it’s no surprise that players are left perplexed. We hope to alleviate your concerns and even assist you in clearing out some of your luggage space, thereby saving you both time and money.

If you play a typical MMO, you can expect to use a single common currency for everything from purchasing your gear to trading. However, the gold system in Diablo II is completely ineffective when it comes to trading. Runes, on the other hand, are a type of currency that you can use to trade. Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s go over each one individually so that you can get a better understanding of what we’re talking about.

Casting Rates that are faster

The Use of Runes as a Trading Currency
Runes are sought after because they are difficult to come by and because they can be used to create rune words that contain modifiers that are applicable to Diablo II builds. When creating these runes, you are essentially rolling dice with stats that are modified based on the initial stats of the rune. Using a rune with Magic resistances, casting speed, and health as a starting point for a crafting project could result in a higher value for either of these stats. The value of your rune will increase dramatically if you roll a perfect number; on the other hand, if you roll a low number, your rune will be worth very little.

Having said that, players will only be interested in rune words that are level 45 or higher in difficulty.

Rune values that are extremely high
Initially, each rune has a specific value. When combining low-level runes of the same quality, you can use three of the same quality, whereas higher-level runes require two of the same quality. Combining runes is beneficial because it allows you to gain higher tiers. You can see the level and value of runes in the table below, which is based on the first high-level rune of value – Ist. This should be used as a starting point for trades. High runes, which are comprised of everything between Ist and Zod, are the most commonly traded between players.

Values of Rune Words
Each rune word has a specific stat from which it benefits, but just because a particular stat has rolled perfectly does not mean that your runes will be worth much in trade. Let’s take a quick look at what that means:

Take, for example, a spirit word rune; when it is applied to a shield, it has three modifications, which are as follows:

  • Mana is between 25% and 35% of the total
  • Magic Absorb 3 – 8 (89 – 112 points)

As you can see, we used the values that could be rolled as 25% through 35% or 89 through 112, among other possibilities. These dice rolls are determined by chance and are subject to the luck of the draw. Even if you roll 112 mana and 8 magic absorbs, but only 25% Faster Cast Rate, the value of the stat will not increase – this is because Faster Cast Rate is the best stat and is more highly sought after by players – and thus the value of the stat will not increase.
Each rune word has increased in value in accordance with the most prioritized stat that was rolled high on the die. There is a list here that you can use as a guide to determine which stat is best for which word (which has a higher value).

Hoarding and related equipment
Hoarding is a common occurrence in video games, owing to the fact that players are unaware of the value of the items they possess. They add to the clutter in your inventory and cause headaches when it comes to inventory control. Examine the values of D2R items for what is considered rare, common, and worthless to put an end to your concerns about their worth. You can search for each item individually and decide whether it is worth keeping or discarding based on your findings. Look to see if you rolled perfectly for the piece of gear you received from a boss or mob before selling it; most items will be useful for a variety of builds and will fetch a reasonable price when you sell them.

A similar note, inventory can become excessively cluttered, making it insufficiently large to accommodate additional items as a result. The majority of players will employ what is known as a mule, which is a level 1 character who will hold all of the items that are not carried by your main character.

Items that are in high demand
There are a few items that always sell, despite the fact that their prices and valuations vary widely. These items are:

  • Precious stones – Perfect stones (40 per first rune) (general rule of thumb)Lower tier runes – a stack of 20 per first rune
  • Jewels – a stack of 40 per first rune (as a general rule of thumb)
  • Lower tier runes – a stack of 20 per first rune
  • Uber Keys – 3 of the same key (as a set)
  • 1 Ist Essence (which is used for respecing) can be obtained

Trading becomes more accessible and less of a headache for new players as a result of the items listed above, and we strongly encourage you to take advantage of them in order to participate in the trading market.

Tips for Trading Seasons on the Spot – Take Advantage of Early and Late Selling Opportunities
Various prices can be found in any capitalist society, depending on the circumstances. Demand in Diablo II fluctuates depending on the time of year and the value of the items in the inventory. Early in the season, equipment for construction will sell in large quantities, but prices will drop precipitously near the end. If you plan on selling your gear and runes, keep in mind that the value of your runes will increase in the final stages. We recommend that you purchase runes early in the season and sell them towards the end of the season to maximize your profits.

Only trade with reputable players – be on the lookout for scams
There have been numerous instances of players being scammed by other players when trading – be on the lookout for this and always check that the item you want is being traded in the trade window (see below). Once you have determined that you are satisfied with the item, confirm the trade.
