Hi readers,
Just to give y’all a heads up – I’m currently having some issues with my Contact and Comments not working 100% correctly. Currently, if you submit a message to me via the Contact form, it doesn’t save your email address, so I have no way of responding unless you put your email address in the message itself. Hopefully we’ll get this cleared up soon.
On another note, I’d like to migrate this blog from WordPress.org (paid and externally hosted) back to WordPress.com (free, except for the cost of my domain name). Anyone have experience doing this and want to digitally hold my hand through the process? I’m not that technically proficient and get so nervous making sweeping changes that could accidentally delete everything!
I’m supposedly a WordPress expert or have been told as much since I’ve written several “impressive plugins”. Keep in mind that there are quite a few limitations to WordPress.com:

Hosting is cheap if you know where to look.
As to migrating your blog, you’ll want to use the built-in WordPress exporting and importing tools to do the actual migration, but be sure to backup the database and files of your current site before doing so – that way you can revert quickly to shared hosting if the need arises.
Once you’ve got a backup of the raw database and files, go into the WordPress admin and go to Tools -> Export. Export everything. Then, on your new WordPress.com blog, import your posts and comments using Tools -> Import and follow the instructions to import the exported data. Then just redirect people to the right place when they go to (www.)zomgcandy.com.
