How Elliptical Training Impacts Your Cardiovascular Health And Muscle Tone

Not sure if you’ve been looking, but I have been on the search for things that help my heart and lung health. From diets and herbs to workouts, I’m trying anything to give this area love and attention. After the recent rise in health problems in the chest area, it’s just not worth neglecting.

Recently, I’ve been trying workouts on an elliptical bike. Wow! They hit the full body more than I was expecting. You have to give it some effort, but it’s well worth it. I wasn’t expecting to see my arms tone up.

Here’s how these incredible machines take you to the next level.

An Elliptical Bike Will Give Your Heart a Good Pump

Cardiovascular training typically has you running around somehow. The point is to get your body moving fast which in turn makes your heart beat faster. You breathe harder giving your lungs a good workout as well. You can even do a “fast to slow and back” style training on these types of bikes.

If you don’t have some sort of cardio routine on your schedule, it’s probably time you added some in. By executing a well rounded workout plan, you can get your entire body healthy. You need a healthy heart and set of lungs to keep you going into your older years.

The Machines Can Provide a Full Body Workout

With this machine being a bike, you would think it would be a lower body workout only. But an elliptical bike also has handles that you can push and pull with your arms. Doing this motion will take away pressure from your legs and let your arms do some of the resisting. When you couple the lower and upper movements together you get a nice full body workout.

You can also go backwards on these machines to target a completely different set of muscles. If you plan on doing this, start slowly pedaling. Then when you start to find your balance and rhythm you can pick up the pace to the point of even going fast.

Since They’re Low Impact You’re Good to Train More

Yes, we understand cardio sessions are great for the heart and lungs. However, for a lot of us, constantly putting forceful impact on our joints doesn’t feel good. Using an elliptical bike will give your joints a break, as it’s low impact. This ease allows you to have a longer training session, and allows you to get more workouts in during the week. I’ve been able to add an additional fifteen to twenty minutes when I use these versus other cardio machines.

Easy on Your Joints and Great for Your Heart and Lungs

Now you should have a good idea on how an elliptical bike takes you to the next level. If you add this type of workout to your regular routine, your heart and lungs will thank you big time. These bikes allow you to keep adding to your training experience all while toning your whole body. Really I see them as a huge win.
